A programme to modernize four quays of the Inner Port in Gdańsk (Wiślane, Bytomskie, Rudowe III and Węglowe) with a total length of 1916 m, together with underground and rail infrastructure and the deepening of the seabed. The investor is Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdańsk SA, and the undertaking, worth approximately PLN 533 million, is mostly (approximately PLN 453 million, 85%) financed from the EU CEF instrument. Construction work began in 2024 with the Rudowe and Bytomskie quays (contractor PORR), while the expansion of the Wiślane quay (DORACO) and the Węglowe quay (Budimex) was planned for subsequent years; the Bytomskie quay was completed in December 2025.

Significance

The expansion of four quays of the Inner Port increases the handling capacity and accessibility of the Port of Gdańsk for larger vessels, including through the deepening of the seabed at the Wiślane quay to 12 m technical depth and the adaptation of the Rudowe III quay to vessels of up to 35,000 DWT. The investment modernizes 1916 m of handling frontage together with rail and underground infrastructure, strengthening the role of Gdańsk in the trans-European TEN-T transport network. The programme is largely financed from EU funds (approximately PLN 453 million, 85% of costs under the CEF instrument).
