Modernization of the E59 line Poznań Główny – Szczecin Dąbie
A multi-year modernization of the E59 railway line (No. 351) along the approx. 190 km Poznań Główny – Szczecin route, carried out by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. and co-financed by the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The scope covered the reconstruction of both tracks together with the overhead line, bridges, viaducts, level crossings and station platforms, as well as modern traffic control systems, enabling passenger trains to run at speeds of up to 160 km/h. Most of the principal works were completed by the end of 2023, and from the new timetable in December 2024 the fastest trains cover the route in under 2 hours; finishing works were still underway, including at Stargard station. According to reports from January 2026, the principal modernization works between Poznań and Szczecin have been completed, and there are no longer any track closures on line No. 351. The value of the investment exceeded PLN 4 billion.

Significance
The modernization of the E59 line shortens travel time and improves the comfort of travel between two large centres in western Poland: from the December 2024 timetable the fastest trains run between Poznań and Szczecin in under 2 hours at speeds of up to 160 km/h, with a targeted reduction of the journey to 1 hour 45 minutes announced. New platforms at several dozen stations and stops, together with the line's increased capacity, allow additional long-distance and regional services to be launched. The line forms part of the trans-European Baltic–Adriatic corridor.
