A2 Motorway eastward: Warsaw (Lubelska) – Biała Podlaska – Terespol/Koroszczyn
Expansion of the A2 motorway east of Warsaw toward the border with Belarus, carried out by GDDKiA. On 26 June 2026 the final sections between Siedlce and Biała Podlaska were opened to drivers, completing a nearly 140 km stretch of the A2 from the Lubelska interchange (at the junction with the S17) to the Biała Podlaska interchange; travel time by passenger car from Warsaw to Biała Podlaska was shortened to a little over an hour. Delivery of this entire route cost nearly PLN 4.6 billion in total, and the European Union co-financed it in the years 2008–2026 with over PLN 2.5 billion. The completion of the missing segment to the state border is ongoing: on 10 June 2026 a contract was signed for the section from the vicinity of Kijowiec to Dobryń (part of a stretch with a total length of over 25 km), with delivery announced in about three years, while the Biała Podlaska – Kijowiec section remains under tender.

Significance
The investment completes the motorway exit from the Warsaw agglomeration to the east and shortens travel time from Warsaw to Biała Podlaska from about three hours to a little over an hour, connecting nearly 140 km of the A2 from the Lubelska interchange to Biała Podlaska. The route is part of the European corridor linking Western Europe with the eastern EU border and access to border crossings with Belarus (Terespol/Koroszczyn, Kukuryki). Completion of the final segment to the state border is, however, burdened with geopolitical uncertainty related to the situation on the eastern border, and the Biała Podlaska – Kijowiec section still remains under tender.
