Terminal 1 of Warsaw-Okęcie Airport (1992)
A new international passenger terminal at Warsaw's Okęcie Airport (now Chopin Airport), built in 1990–1992 and put into service on 1 July 1992. Terminal 1 — today the older part of Terminal A — with a usable area of 94,082 m², was designed with an initial capacity of about 3.5 million passengers per year. The general contractor for the investment was the company Hochtief Polska. The owner and manager of the airport is the state-owned enterprise Polskie Porty Lotnicze (PPL). The facility was Poland's main gateway for air communication with abroad in the 1990s and was later expanded and integrated with a new terminal (2012–2015).

Significance
Terminal 1 was the first modern passenger terminal built at Warsaw's Okęcie and for many years Poland's main airport handling international traffic. Opened in 1992, during the transformation period, it significantly increased the capacity and standard of passenger service at the capital's airport (a design capacity of approx. 3.5 million passengers per year), becoming a symbolic "window on the world" for the country. In 2012–2015 the terminal was rebuilt and joined with the newer part into a single Terminal A.
