Significance

The opening of the further S6 sections closed the over-300 km expressway corridor running along the Polish coast, providing an uninterrupted expressway connection between Szczecin and the Tri-City. According to GDDKiA, travel time between Gdańsk and Szczecin was shortened by about 1.5 hours – from about five to about 3.5 hours. The Koszalin – Słupsk stretch alone is 46 km of route with eight interchanges and 48 bridge structures, and the entire Słupsk – Bożepole Wielkie section was delivered with EU funding support exceeding PLN 1.4 billion.
