The Google Cloud computing region in Warsaw, launched on 14 April 2021 as the first region of a global public cloud provider in Central and Eastern Europe. It was created as a result of a strategic partnership between Google and Operator Chmury Krajowej (OChK), a company established by the Polish Development Fund (PFR) and PKO Bank Polski. The region launched with three availability zones and the full catalogue of Google Cloud services.

Significance

The first public cloud computing region of a global provider in Central and Eastern Europe, providing local data storage and processing with low latency for companies and public institutions in Poland and the region. At the time of its opening it was the 25th Google Cloud region in the world and the seventh in Europe, and at the same time Google's largest digital investment in Poland to date.
