The modernization of Warszawa Wschodnia station and the Warszawa Stadion stop, carried out by the infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. The contractor is Torpol; a contract worth nearly PLN 3.64 billion gross was signed on 12 June 2026. Scope: the reconstruction of seven roofed platforms of uniform height, 14 elevators, escalators, the modernization of underground passages, a new viaduct, and the replacement of tracks, switches, and the traction network. Construction works are to start in December 2026 and continue until the end of 2029. The investment is co-financed from the EU FEnIKS program.

Significance

The modernization covers one of the busiest stations in the Warsaw railway junction, through which nearly a thousand trains pass per day. The uniform, roofed platforms, together with 14 elevators and escalators, are intended to improve accessibility and passenger comfort, while the replacement of tracks, switches, and the traction network, together with a new viaduct, is to increase capacity and traffic reliability. The undertaking continues the reconstruction of the capital's railway junction begun with the modernization of Warszawa Zachodnia station.
