Significance

The launch of the factory was one of the largest foreign industrial investments in Poland and made Volkswagen Poznań the largest employer in Wielkopolska (approx. 9,000 employees in the company, approx. 3,000 at the Września plant itself). The plant produces Crafter and MAN TGE delivery vehicles with capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles per year (a record of 103,000 units in 2024). The expansion begun in November 2025, adding new body shops and a battery warehouse, is to prepare the factory for production of the new-generation electric e-Crafter and maintain the plant's strategic importance for the Polish automotive industry.
