Significance
The plant in Jawor made Poland the first location for Mercedes-Benz engine production outside Germany and integrated Lower Silesia into the group's global supply chain. It created over a thousand highly skilled jobs (ultimately over 1,600), and the engines and batteries produced there go to Mercedes-Benz plants around the world. The plant also became the base for a further investment worth over a billion euros in an electric delivery van factory.
