New Oncology Hospital in Wrocław (DCOPiH)
The New Oncology Hospital in Wrocław is a new headquarters under construction for the Lower Silesian Center of Oncology, Pulmonology and Hematology (DCOPiH) — described as the largest healthcare investment in the history of Lower Silesia, financed by the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship self-government and the state budget. The facility, with an area of approx. 100,500 m², is to accommodate 671 beds in 2-person rooms as well as 14 operating theatres and consolidate three existing facilities. The construction contract was signed on 22 May 2023 with the company PORR (the most advantageous bid in the tender at approx. PLN 1.055 billion), and the total value of the investment is estimated at approx. PLN 1.5 billion. The cornerstone was laid in October 2024; in 2026 construction was ahead of schedule by more than four months — the façade was completed and finishing works were underway. Completion of construction is envisaged for August 2027 at the latest, and the admission of the first patients was originally planned for 2028, now for 2027.
