Expansion of the Production Capacity of Huta Stalowa Wola (Krab/Borsuk/Rak)
A programme to expand and modernise the production capacity of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. (PGZ Group), comprising the construction and expansion of production halls and the purchase of machinery in order to increase production of Polish land systems: the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle, the Krab self-propelled howitzers, the Rak self-propelled mortars, and tracked chassis for the K9 self-propelled howitzer. The total value of the capital expenditure has been set at PLN 1,371.8 million, of which PLN 1,242.0 million comes from the Capital Investment Fund and PLN 105.8 million constitutes the company's own contribution. The company received the first tranche of funding, amounting to PLN 600 million, in June 2023, with further funds being transferred in 2025-2026. Expansion of the main hall is under way at the primary plant in Stalowa Wola; according to the company's declarations, production capacity is to increase threefold, and the entire investment is to be completed by 2030.

Significance
The investment is intended to increase the country's production capacity for key land systems for the Polish Armed Forces several times over, including the amphibious Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles (ultimately up to 100 units per year) and the Krab self-propelled howitzers (up to 50 units per year). This strengthens the PGZ Group's capacity to fulfil large arms contracts and reduces dependence on foreign manufacturers for armoured equipment supplies.
