OSGE SMR Program (BWRX-300) — first power plant in Włocławek

The program to build Poland's first small modular nuclear power plant (SMR) using BWRX-300 technology, carried out in Włocławek by Orlen Synthos Green Energy (OSGE), in which Orlen and Synthos Green Energy each hold a 50 percent stake. The project envisages building up to six reactors on the Włocławek site; the first stage assumes commissioning at least two units with a combined capacity of approximately 0.6 GW by 2035. The special-purpose company BWRX-300 Włocławek obtained a fundamental decision from the Minister of Energy, and environmental and siting studies are currently underway ahead of submitting an application for a construction permit.

Significance
