The new campus of the University Hospital in Krakow is a hospital complex built in the Prokocim district, ranked among the largest of its kind in Poland. On a site of nearly 15 hectares, a group of medical buildings was erected housing approximately 925 beds, clinical departments, specialist outpatient clinics, and an integrated operating suite with 24 rooms. The investor was Jagiellonian University – Collegium Medicum; the construction contract was signed in January 2015, and the official opening took place on 29 October 2019. The total cost exceeded PLN 1.2 billion, of which PLN 800 million came from the state budget.

Significance

Relocating and centralising the clinics on a modern campus in Prokocim replaced dispersed, partly historic buildings in the centre of Krakow, increasing the region's bed base and its diagnostic and treatment capabilities. The facility became one of the largest and most modern hospital investments in Poland and a point of reference for subsequent major healthcare projects.
