MFW Bałtyk 1 is an offshore wind farm project with an installed capacity of up to 1560 MW, developed jointly by Polenergia and Equinor (50% indirect stakes each in the MFW Bałtyk I S.A. company). The farm is to be built on the Ławica Środkowa (Middle Bank), about 80 km from the shoreline, with a maximum of 104 turbines. The project obtained a location permit (2019), a transmission grid connection agreement, and a legally binding decision on environmental conditions issued by the RDOŚ in Gdańsk (28 April 2025). In December 2025, the project's bid won Poland's first-ever auction for offshore wind energy, obtaining support in the form of a contract for difference (CfD) with a price of PLN 492.32/MWh and a support period of up to 25 years. The start of commercial operation is planned for 2032; the project has not yet reached a final investment decision (FID).

Significance
Once completed, Bałtyk 1 with a capacity of up to 1560 MW will be one of the largest offshore wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic, capable of supplying green energy to about two million households. The project is part of the Polenergia and Equinor portfolio (Bałtyk 1, 2 and 3) with a combined capacity of up to 3000 MW and supports Poland's energy transition and the development of the domestic supply chain for offshore wind energy. The victory in Poland's first offshore auction secures long-term revenue support (CfD for up to 25 years) for this investment.
