Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm
The first Polish offshore wind farm, being built in the Baltic Sea about 23 km from shore off Choczewo and Łeba by a joint venture company in which Grupa ORLEN holds 51% and Canada's Northland Power 49% of shares. The project, with a capacity of about 1.1–1.2 GW, comprises 76 Vestas turbines with a unit capacity of 15 MW, and its total budget was estimated at about EUR 4.73 billion, with project finance from 25 institutions. Construction began in October 2023; on 10 July 2026 the farm delivered electricity to the Polish grid for the first time, with 54 of 76 turbines installed, and full commercial operation is planned for the second half of 2026.
